February 15, 2026: Load-Out Operations Commence for the Four-Leg Jacket of WHP-1 Wellhead Platform in the Iran–Saudi Shared Field
In less than 18 months, three jackets have been rolled up, three jackets have been load-outed, and two jackets have been successfully installed.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Petropars Group, more than 10,000 tons of offshore structures have been fabricated over the past 18 months. During this period, the jackets of Bilal, Phase 11A of South Pars, and Farzad were rolled up. All three jackets were subsequently load-outed, while the Bilal and Phase 11A jackets were installed offshore.
In addition, through round-the-clock efforts by operational teams, fabrication of the four-leg jacket for one of the wellhead platforms (WHP-1) of the Farzad B Gas Field has been completed and is currently undergoing load-out operations. The structure stands 60.2 meters high, weighs 1,485 tons, and includes six well slots for drilling, along with a temporary drilling deck weighing 111 tons. The piles, with a total weight of 976 tons, have also been completed.
Following load-out and sea fastening, the massive structure will be transported for installation at a water depth of 53.7 meters in the Persian Gulf, within the border waters of Iran and Saudi Arabia. Installation of the jacket will mark the formal and accelerated commencement of development activities in this shared field.
Dr. Hamidreza Saghafi, CEO of Petropars Group, stated that fabrication of the offshore structure began in November 2024 at the yard of the Iran Marine Industrial Company under the Fourteenth Government. The structure was completed within 15 months, and load-out onto the vessel Abu Zar 110 was carried out on February 15, 2026, followed by the commencement of sea fastening operations. Upon completion of sea fastening, the jacket will sail to its final offshore location in the Iran–Saudi border waters for installation.
He emphasized the continuous coordination among Pars Oil and Gas Company as the project employer, Petropars Group, Iran Marine Industrial Company, and domestic contractors, noting that this achievement is the result of sustained planning, close collaboration, and effective synergy among the key project stakeholders.
Mehdi Saeedi Boroujeni, Project Manager for the development of the Farzad B Gas Field, stated that following prolonged delays, the field has entered the execution phase through an operational approach grounded in domestic capabilities. Today marks the realization of one of the most significant milestones envisioned in the development roadmap of the field.
In closing, Dr. Saghafi underscored the national responsibility of Petropars Group, affirming that despite challenging national circumstances, the Group remains committed to fulfilling its national mission. Relying on cohesion, determination, and the expertise of Iranian specialists, Petropars continues to advance development efforts with responsibility and dedication toward the prosperity of the country.
