CEO: Synergy with Ahdaf Vital for Boosting South Pars Gas Pressure
On the final day of the 29th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Exhibition, a memorandum of understanding between Petropars Group and Ahdaf Investment Company was signed in the presence of senior executives from both organizations at the Petropars booth.
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Petropars, Dr. Hamidreza Saghafi, CEO of the Group, expressed gratitude to Dr. Mehdi Obouri, CEO of Ahdaf, and welcomed this agreement as a critical step toward resolving Iran’s energy imbalance.
“Ahdaf possesses expert and capable teams. This collaboration offers a valuable opportunity for synergy between the two companies in executing major oil and gas projects,” he stated.
Dr. Saghafi elaborated on the division of responsibilities in South Pars, explaining that Petropars is in charge of Hubs 1 and 7, while Ahdaf manages Hubs 2 and 5.
He noted:
“Hubs 1, 2, and 3, being located near Iran’s maritime borders, play a pivotal role in preventing gas migration. Our combined efforts are essential, particularly given that the two groups collectively hold over 50% share in the gas pressure boosting project—crucial for the country’s energy future.”
Dr. Saghafi described the partnership as a positive development and thanked Ahdaf’s leadership for their commitment to improving Iran’s energy infrastructure.
He emphasized the technical differences in project execution models:
Ahdaf’s projects in Hubs 2 and 5 follow the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) model, with financing provided by NIOC after initial documentation.
In contrast, Petropars is handling Phases 11 and 12 under the IPC (Iranian Petroleum Contract) model, which requires self-financing. Hub 7 is also being executed under an EPC model.
“This MoU will foster operational synergy, accelerate project timelines, and enhance performance,” he concluded.
“Both organizations are working toward a common goal—resolving the national energy imbalance and ensuring energy security, which is critical to public satisfaction.”
