Following the signing of the energy cooperation MoU with Venezuela’s Ministry of Petroleum, Dr. Hamidreza Saghafi, CEO of Petropars Group, emphasized Iran’s ambition to expand its international footprint in the oil and gas sector under the administration of the 14th government.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Petropars, Dr. Saghafi described Venezuela as a friendly and brotherly nation with substantial energy resources and noted Petropars’ strong potential to contribute effectively to its development efforts.

“As the largest E&P company in Iran, Petropars draws on years of successful collaboration with global energy giants such as Total, ENI, and Statoil,” he said.

“We can transfer this experience to joint projects in Venezuela and help accelerate progress in its energy sector.”

Dr. Saghafi underlined the company’s ability to execute the entire oil and gas value chain—from seismic surveys to production—citing the execution of over 50% of South Pars projects as evidence of Petropars’ technical and operational strength.

He also referenced a recent visit by Venezuelan officials to Petropars’ SITP processing center and the South Azadegan project, noting:

“These site visits convinced our Venezuelan partners of our capability to manage large-scale operations. We will soon dispatch a technical delegation to Venezuela for more detailed discussions and planning.”

Dr. Saghafi concluded by reaffirming Petropars' interest in expanding its international operations:

“We are eager to offer Petropars’ technical expertise in countries like Venezuela and Iraq. Under the 14th government, we are hopeful for a more prominent role in international energy projects.”

He emphasized that this agreement reflects Iran’s serious intent to develop strategic partnerships abroad and strengthen bilateral ties in the global energy landscape.
