According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Petropars Group, Dr. Saqafi stated: The jacket for the Bilal Gas Field Development Project, standing 75 meters tall and weighing approximately 3,000 tons (including 1,800 tons for the jacket and accessories, and 1,200 tons for the piles), was constructed and loaded at the Sadra Company’s fabrication yard—serving as a subcontractor—relying on domestic capabilities and under sanction conditions. The structure was secured onto the Mahdis 1 transport barge for subsequent offshore transportation and installation at a depth of 65 meters.

He added: The Bilal project consists of five work packages, including the construction and installation of the wellhead jacket, deck and flare, pipeline and fiber optics, drilling of one appraisal-exploration well, and the drilling and completion of eight development wells. The appraisal-exploration well has been completed, and upon the jacket’s installation in March—which is a prerequisite for drilling development wells—the drilling and completion of the eight development wells will commence.

The Petropars CEO further noted that the entire process is planned to be completed within 24 months.

Dr. Saqafi emphasized: Upon the completion of drilling operations, alongside the construction and installation of the Bilal deck and the completion of a 20-inch pipeline to transfer the produced gas to Platform 12A and subsequently to Phase 12 refinery, the country’s production capacity will increase by 500 MMSCFD of gas and 10,000 barrels of gas condensates per day. This will significantly contribute to addressing the national gas supply imbalance.

In conclusion, Dr. Saqafi highlighted that Petropars Group, as one of the leading entities in Iran’s oil and gas industry, not only plays a pivotal role in gas field development but also serves as a successful model in overcoming sanctions and leveraging domestic capabilities.
