Undersea Fiber Optic Cable Burial Begins at South Pars Phase 11B
Petropars Group has launched the undersea fiber optic cable burial operations at the 11B platform of South Pars Phase 11, aiming to enhance offshore communications infrastructure and ensure maximum protection of critical data transmission lines.
According to Petropars’ Public Relations and International Affairs Office, the operation is being carried out using advanced marine technology and specialized equipment. The project is intended to:
Establish a stable and secure communication link between the offshore platform and onshore processing facilities,
Increase the safety and reliability of data transfer,
Strengthen the operational infrastructure of the active 11B production platform.
Dr. Hamidreza Saghafi, CEO of Petropars, praised the efforts of the Phase 11 engineering team for executing this complex technical operation during challenging conditions.
He emphasized Petropars’ commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies and adhering to international standards in all project executions.
“The strong spirit of unity and cooperation among Petropars’ staff and management has enabled us to successfully implement critical technical operations at the highest standards,” Dr. Saghafi stated, highlighting the role of human capital as the company's most valuable asset.
Ali Nadiran, Phase 11 Development Project Manager at Petropars, explained that the operation includes installing and burying the fiber optic cable on the seabed, connecting the SP11B platform to South Pars’ main fiber optic network.
This will provide a reliable and resilient communication pathway between offshore facilities and onshore processing units.
The cable burial operation is expected to be completed within the current week, finalizing this critical phase of Phase 11B development.
