Petropars Boosts Oil Production Capacity at South Azadegan Field
Dr. Hamidreza Saghafi, CEO of Petropars Group, announced a notable increase in oil production capacity at South Azadegan Field, crediting the achievement to the dedicated efforts of Petropars’ experts and workforce.
According to Petropars’ Public Relations and International Affairs Office, two new wells were successfully completed and brought online, adding 4,000 barrels per day to the field’s total production capacity. This accomplishment aligns with national goals to develop shared oil fields and address the country’s energy supply challenges.
Dr. Saghafi expressed his gratitude to all project partners, including PEDEC (Petroleum Engineering and Development Company) as the project owner, and the contractors involved, notably the Exploration Operations Company and Tadbir Company. He emphasized that team cohesion and close collaboration were key factors in achieving this success.
“Despite challenges related to financing and equipment supply, efficient project management and the strategic use of domestic resources enabled us to expedite the production timeline,” Dr. Saghafi stated.
Following the commissioning of these two new wells, the number of operational wells in the Central Package of South Azadegan Field has now reached 33 wells, pushing the field’s total production capacity to over 48,900 barrels per day.
Petropars reaffirmed its commitment to optimizing production processes and sustaining long-term development efforts at South Azadegan, further contributing to the growth of Iran’s oil industry.
