Petropars Group announced the successful commencement of trial operations at the Central Processing Unit (CTEP) of the South Azadegan shared oil field, marking a major milestone toward sustainable production.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Office of Petropars, Dr. Hamidreza Saghafi, CEO of the group, emphasized during his site visit that this achievement showcases the high capabilities of Iranian engineers. He highlighted that the early start of trial operations—despite numerous challenges—reflects the solidarity, commitment, and collective efforts within the Petropars group.

The trial startup phase has focused on key facilities, including flares, utility systems, desalting units, oil storage tanks, and crude transfer systems. Comprehensive testing of firewater systems, control and safety systems, and flowlines was completed to ensure operational readiness.

“This trial operation, conducted ahead of schedule and under complex international conditions, is proof of Iran’s domestic capabilities in executing mega-projects,” Dr. Saghafi stated. “With teamwork and determination, national objectives are within reach.”

He also expressed gratitude to the client, the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), as well as all contractors and regional authorities for their support, emphasizing that such success is only possible through collective effort.

Following the successful entry of gas into the processing center, the facility's flares were ignited, signaling the first step toward stable operations. The official inauguration of the center is expected soon, with the presence of the Minister of Petroleum and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).

Dr. Saghafi concluded by reaffirming Petropars’ commitment to accelerating the development of shared fields and advancing Iran’s oil industry.
