Eighth Well on SP11B Platform of South Pars Comes Online, Adding 3 MCM of Daily Gas Output

  2025 March 31
Petropars Group announced the successful commissioning of the eighth production well on the 11B platform of South Pars Phase 11, marking a key step toward enhancing Iran’s daily gas output as the new year begins.

According to the company’s Public Relations and International Affairs Office, Dr. Hamidreza Saghafi, CEO of Petropars, highlighted that the well came online after acid stimulation operations and is now contributing approximately 3 million cubic meters (MCM) of gas per day to the national grid.

“This achievement is the result of precise planning, strong collaboration between Petropars and Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), and the commitment of Iranian experts,” Saghafi said. “The eighth well on SP11B is a crucial milestone in the development of Phase 11 and reinforces our role in ensuring Iran’s energy security.”

He thanked POGC for its continued support and emphasized Petropars’ determination to execute South Pars expansion projects at the highest quality and within tight timelines.

Ali Nadiran, Phase 11 Development Project Manager at Petropars, provided technical insights, stating that the well was drilled to a total depth of over 4,200 meters and successfully perforated in the Kangan and Dalan reservoir layers. Currently, the well is undergoing post-acidization cleanup and flow testing.

Dr. Saghafi added that once the hook-up and flowline connection is finalized, production from the well will be fully integrated into the national gas distribution system. According to the schedule, this process is expected to be completed by the end of April 2025, further boosting output from Phase 11.
