Onshore Facilities of South Pars Gas Development phase 19
Phase 19 of South Pars Gas Field Development was assigned to Petropars in June 2010 by the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in which Petropars, for the first time, played the role of an EPC contractor in drilling operations and onshore refinery.
Thus, in order to maintain its agility in the successful execution of this project, Petropars assigned the onshore facilities construction to Petropars Iran as its executive arm in the management of refinery projects. Drilling ativities were carried out by other subsidiary POSCO, under supervision of Petropars Limited (PPL). With the offshore facilities construction was separately assigned to the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC), while the management and leadership of the project as under the consortium of Phase 19 was assigned to Petropars Ltd (PPL). in order to coordinate between various parties of the project. To best plan and construct this megaproject with so many complexities, risks and internationally imposed limitations, PPI applied a comprehensive subcontracting strategy and broke the project down to different subprojects and managed and integrated them while handling all the interfaces simultaneously.
