The third subsurface safety valve (SSSV) was built with the efforts of the experts of Petropars Co

The third SSSV built by a subsidiary of Petropars group was ready to deliver in South Pars gas wells.

According to the report of Public Relations and International Affairs of Petropars Group, by performing functional tests, the third SSSV out of 11 sets has been built under the contract of this company, also, it will soon be installed to utilize in South Pars Complex.
This is a Retrievable Tubing Valve, with an inner and an outer diameter of 5.9 and 8.5 inches, respectively, and weigh of about 600 pounds, which can withstand a pressure of 5000 PSI, besides, is resistant to CO2 and H2S corrosion.
Tubing Retrievable SSSV with an approximate value of $300,000 made of chrome-nickel super alloy, moreover, taking about 900 man-hours. This valve can be located at a depth of 150 meters in gas wells so that it can be closed automatically when there is a danger of the external space loss of the well to prevent the gas emission and the possible dangers.
Besides, functional tests for the SSSV were performed in accordance with API14 A standard.
These tests were successfully completed through 25 stages including gas and liquid fluid test up to a pressure of 9000 psi (equivalent to 612 bar) in three days under strict safety conditions in the presence of the representatives of employer and third party.
Retrievable Tubing SSSV was built by engineers during nearly three months and can be located at a depth of 150 meters in gas wells so that it can be closed automatically when there is a danger of the external space loss of the well to prevent the gas emission and the possible dangers.
