Due to the importance of drilling operations and the need for an optimal management in the assigned projects, Petropars Oilfield Services Company (POSCO) was formed and registered in Kish Island in 2004 and henceforth the management of drilling projects of Petropars group companies was assigned to this company. Since 2008 and along with the commencement of Phase 12 of South Pars Gas Field, POSCO undertook management of Petropars drilling projects. POSCO is a drilling project management company providing the following services:

Drilling Projects Management
Drilling Engineering Studies
Procurement of drilling materials and equipment
Supervision of drilling operations

G & G Studies, and reservoir modeling
Provision of logistic Services
Management of its owned high class operation supply base

Having at its disposal state-of-the-art equipment and machinery and modern facilities, and relying on the capabilities of its employees’ competence in different fields such as drilling engineering, logistics, drilling operations and geological surveys, POSCO makes every attempt to provide services with the highest quality possible ever to its customers. POSCO has at its disposal a highly-equipped and the most sophisticated site to support operations in Kish Island and in the port, a quality which makes POSCO highly flexible from the point of view of logistics. POSCO carried out services in the north pars gas fields projects (phases 12, 19, 13 & 23) and gas fields Farzad & Salman projects and oil field of south Azadegan and consultancy services to NIOC & NISOC regarding tendering activities. From a broad perspective, the major services which POSCO is capable of rendering include:

Engineering, procurement and management of execution of offshore /onshore drilling operations, well completion and also workover operation
Services required for and related to onshore and offshore oil and gas industries operations
All support services related to drilling rigs
All warehousing services
Provision of fuel and water, provision of administrative offices and spaces, administrative services related to inspection of goods, equipment and machinery, provision of human workforce

The main goals of the establishment of POSCO were:

To transfer technical knowledge technology in drilling wells
To transfer and localize the know-how of this field
To provide centralized management of various drilling and support contractors
To reduce the duration of drilling operations
To allocate efficient resources to drilling rigs loading to cost and risk reduction of projects

Outlook

POSCO aims to be a symbol of a profitable and reliable company in drilling operations management due to its logistics bases and facilities for supporting the drilling rigs, skilled human resource, communication with internationally recognized vendors and service providers, cooperation with international companies, and the use of integrated management systems.
