Introduction of Sweet Gas from the National Gas Grid to Phase 19 Refinery
Sweet gas from the national gas grid was successfully introduced into the Refinery of Phase 19
Sweet gas from the national gas grid was successfully introduced into the Refinery of Phase 19 on Friday January 8, 2016 relying on the untiring attempts and unsparing efforts made by Petropars specialists and experts.
A report released by the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Petropars Group reads that after the On-shore site of Phase 19 was fully prepared to collect sweet gas from the 6th national pipeline and initially transfer the same to SP19-C and subsequently to SPD2 Platform, sweet gas was successfully introduced into Phase 19 Refinery through an 8-inch pipeline. Within a couple of days to come and after IOEC declares their readiness, the operations for the injection of gas into the 32-inch sea pipeline will commence.
Engineer Khoshmanesh, Manager for the Commissioning of Phase 19 stated that everything was fully prepared for commissioning of the second flare of Phase 19 Refinery and added the commissioning of the second Flare was a major step to have the Refinery prepared to collect sour gas.
He went on to further say; “Flare No. 2 of Phase 19 Refinery will be commissioned from the 4-inch fueling pipeline of Phase 12 within a couple of days to come. Upon commissioning of this flare, the 4-inch fueling pipeline will be removed from the circle and fueling of both flares of the Refinery will be performed by 8-inch pipeline of the 6th national gas grid.
It should be noted that injection of the sweet gas, with the minimum 50-bar pressure, into the 32-inch sea pipeline, which measures well over 100 Km in length, is carried out for the flaring operations of the platform and to prevent freezing of the pipeline after the sour gas transferred from the platform would be set free with difference in pressure measuring over 90 bar.
