Phase 1 reservoir fluids from SPD 1 & 2 wellheads are delivered to the refinery in Assaluyeh utilizing 32”, 30” and 18” diameter pipelines. The 32” and 30” steel pipes were manufactured in Iran by Ahwaz Steel Mill.
The 18” diameter clad pipes with corrosion resistance alloy were produced by a Japanese company. All the pipes were delivered to Ghaem Yard Coating facilities in Khoramshahr for coating.
After applying anticorrosion and reinforced concrete coatings, the pipes were transported to the Assaluyeh Offshore facilities for sub-sea installation.
18” infield flow line pipes deliver gas from SPD2 wellheads (Satellite Drilling Platform) across a 5-Km distance to the SPP1 production platform.
30” pipes deliver condensates from the Onshore refinery to the SBM and then to marine tankers for export.
32” coated steel pipes were installed by the Abuzar-1200 vessel a distance of 105 Km from the SPP1 - Production Platform to the South Pars phase1 Onshore gas refinery in Assaluyeh.

A total of 8750 pieces of 32” pipes (12 meter pieces) were welded together under strict quality control and supervision, which subsequently underwent non-destructive testing (such as radiography). Upon successful completion of the field joint coatings and authentication of the welded areas, boilancy tanks were connected to the pipes and a floated in water with the assistance of the pipe laying stringer and the Abuzar-1200 vessel.
