Training

Training in Petropars is managed by the Human Resource Department. Since 2002 the HR department has focused on increasing the level of knowledge and skills of company employees and motivating them to participate in training programs. In order to participate in such programs, all qualified teaching institutions are studied and identified, and then each participant is evaluated and assessed and finally recommended by their managers.

The importance and progress of this program could be represented by the 11,328 man-hours of training and participation of 390 Petropars employees in training programs in the last 12 months.

Tours and site visits

In an attempt to increase awareness and knowledge of the world-class projects being developed in the South Pars Gas Field, Petropars invites a number of professionals, university faculties, and students to visit our sites each month. We are proud to say that from June to December of 2003 a total of 265 people have visited our sites. One of the highlights of this program was the educational tour of 65 students from Kangan to see the onshore facilities of Phase 1.

Financial assistance and aid for higher education

Each year Petropars financially assists a maximum of 4 PhD research projects in the field of oil and gas (which have been approved by their university).

The maximum financial assistance is 50,000,000 Rials.

A panel consisting of managers of Petropars will determine the exact amount for assistance.

In September of each year Petropars announces requirements for research projects to all universities and also on the website. Proposals are received until December and then evaluated and a decision on their acceptance is made by the end of January.

The financial commitments of Petropars to this program are as follows:

  • 35% upon approval of the proposal in Petropars
  • 35% one year after approval and submitting a progress report
  • 30% after successful completion of the project and presenting a seminar in Petropars
