SP6,7&8 Offshore Information

Three wellhead platforms SPD7, SPD8 & SPD9 are dedicated to development of South Pars Gas Field, phases 6,7&8. Each wellhead has 10 producer slots and 6 spare slots for future wells.

A choke valve is positioned in each wellhead outlet to reduce reservoir fluid pressure.

There are 2 x 50% Free Water knock out (KO) drums to separate the produced water and hydrocarbon condensate from the well fluids. The separated water from the FWKO drums is routed to sea via an Oily Water Treatment Package that is common to both drums. The hydrocarbon condensate is routed back to the main gas stream.

Each wellhead platform has a dedicated permanent pig launching facility located on the topside which is capable of automatic launching of up to five spheres or plastic pigs. Scraper and inspection pigs are also handled.

Each wellhead platform consists of two main sections: Jacket and Topside.

·    All three platforms are installed. Two platforms are producing as per designed normal capacity. Third platform Hook-up and completion activities ongoing.

Drilling:

Two Jack-up-rigs Rani Woro and Sagadril 2 were in operation to drill and complete 27 production wells, and to tie back three predrilled appraisal wells. introduction of pre-drilled liner completion technique and an excellent drilling performance has had a significant influence which causes, drilling activities have finished on 9th January 2006, 772 rig/day ahead of schedule.

·    20 wells out of 30 drilled wells are in full operation.

Sub-Sea Pipeline:

Three 32" pipelines transport raw wellstream fluids produced at each wellhead platform with the exception of free water.

During its transport to shore, the fluid goes through pressure and temperature conditions under which hydrates may form.

A 70/30 % by weight mono ethylene glycol (MEG) water mixture is injected into the production fluids at each platform to suppress hydrate formation in the sealines and to inhibit corrosion. A piggyback line is installed on each main sealine to convey the hydrate inhibitor from onshore regeneration facilities to allow continuous injection at the offshore plant. Also Concrete coating is used to prevent corrosion of the exterior walls and to make the pipes heavier.

The nominal capacity of each sealine is 1000 MMSCFD equivalent dry wellhead fluids and they are designed for a pressure of 139 barg.

The overall length of the sealines from SPD7, SPD8 and SPD9 to shore are 95.3, 101.8 and 110.5 km respectively.

The installation contractor Allseas started Pipelaying by Solitaire on 9 October 2004 and completed the installation of 311 km, pipeline of phases 6, 7 &8, and 30” condensate line.

·   Tie-in of phase 8 pipe line is ongoing (to be completed in June 2009)
