 The contract to develop three oil fields signs soon

A contract to develop three heavy crude oil fields including Kohmond, Kaki and Bushgan will be signed early next Iranian month Ordibehesht (late April), said an oil official here on Monday.

In an exclusive interview with Shana newswire, Bahman Samimi, the executive official for development plan of the heavy crude oil fields said the contract would be signed with an Iranian – Australian consortium named KIPC.

Mr. Samimi said that KIPC has presented Master Development Plan (MDP) for the aforementioned fields that has been ratified by NIOC board of directors and Supreme Council of Reservoirs.

He stressed that KIPC has introduced some companies, mainly Chinese, to provide finance for the three oil fields and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has dispatched envoys to visit the companies and evaluate their financial capabilities.

According to Mr. Samimi, development plan contract for the three fields have been signed last year and after receiving the envoys report about the introduced companies and confirmation of their financial capabilities, the contract would be signed officially.

The official expressed hope that the buyback contract to develop Kohmond, Kaki and Bushgan oil fields to become effective  in a three weeks period after confirmation and ratification.

the oil fields are located in Bushehr provine in southern part of Iran.
