Phases 4 & 5 of South Pars Gas Field Development Project were assigned on 2000 (Iranian year 1379) by Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) to a Joint Venture comprising AGIP (60%), Petropars Limited (20%) and NICO (20%) within the scheme of a buy-back contract.
The Joint Venture was led by AGIP. Phases 4 and 5 are included among phases which are located in the central part of South Pars Gas Field. The onshore establishments and facilities of Phases 4 and 5 border the Persian Gulf in Assaluyeh region (approximately 270 km East-South of Bushehr Port) by the side of Phases 6, 7 and 8, in Pars Energy Economic Special Zone. The wells and offshore platforms of Phases 4 & 5 are located almost 100 km away from the Persian Gulf coast. Development of Phases 4 and 5 of South Pars Gas Field Project was aimed to extract and transfer 2 billion cubic feet per day of gas out of 24 wells located on 2 wellhead platforms. Phases 4 & 5 have already been completed and presently they are fully productive. The condensates separated in the onshore facilities are exported through the sub-sea pipeline and SBM. Further, upon its sweetening, the LPG produced therein is transferred to Pars jetty for exportation. The Onshore section of this project was fully completed in 36 months which is the best record ever attained in the course of development of different phases of South Pars Gas Field.
