Phase 12 of South Pars Gas Field Development Project was assigned on July 16, 2005 (Tir 25, 1384) by Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) to Petropars Limited, within the scheme of a buy-back contract, for production of 3 billion cubic feet per day of gas out of 45 wells situated at South Pars Gas Field region.
Phase 12 is included among the Eastern-South phases of South Pars Gas Field region. The offshore establishments and facilities of Phase 12 are located approximately 145 kilometers from the coastal line, while the onshore establishments and facilities border the Persian Gulf in Tumbak region (Pars 2) measuring approximately 220 Km in area65 km East of Assaluyeh and 210 km East-South of Bushehr Port).
This Project comprises drilling of 45 wells on the four wellhead platforms. The gas and condensates extracted out of these wells are transferred to the onshore facilities in Tumbak region by three sub-sea gas pipelines measuring in length approximately 145 kilometers.
In the onshore facilities, the sour gas, condensates and other impurities are collected from offshore establishments and facilities and are made ready-to-consume upon their separation. After being sweetened in the 6 gas processing rows, the sour gas is injected into the National Gas Grid VI for domestic consumption. The condensates separated in the refinery section are exported through sub-sea pipeline and SBM.Upon completion of this Project, it will be feasible to transfer 2 billion cubic feet per day of the sour gas to LNG production facilities constructed in the adjacent area. Relying on unsparing efforts of the employees and contractors, this national project is passing through the initial stages of production, and hopefully a substantial portion of this mega project will be fully completed and productive in Iranian year 1393. It should be noted that Phase 12 of South Pars Gas Field is the greatest project in the history of Iran’s oil industry which has become productive.
